I was reviewing the blog a little last night, and it occurred to me that I have been a little "in the trenches," so sometimes I am saying things in shorthand or not fully explaining myself. In particular, I wondered if my postings about the wonderful visits we have been having with Pastor Mike startled some people. If I did anything to convey the message that he was here praying in a "last rites" or similar manner, I apologize. Pastor Mike has been here with us to teach us about the healing power of Christ and to join us in giving thanks for that healing. Nothing more. Our prayers are joyful and hopeful. Yes, Kurt's medical condition is serious, but I can not overstate his fight and resolve. Kurt is calling the shots here, and I am proud to follow his lead.
In other news, I am sure no one is surprised that we are waiting, waiting, waiting, on Kurt's catheter placement. What is it about hospitals that can just bring forward motion to a standstill? Actually, I shouldn't be so impatient ~ if they haven't grabbed Kurt yet, that means the doctors are busy dealing with emergencies, so I shouldn't complain.
If the catheter doesn't get done today, the docs will drain the fluids again from Kurt, so he will be perking up and eating this afternoon. He can't have anything except ice chips today, in preparation for the catheter placement, and I think he is about ready to throw the glass of ice chips against the wall. :)

To Kurt and Jennifer,
This is my first comment even though I have been following your blog since Kurt first sent it out on 09/16/08. Each day I am amazed more and more by your strength and courage during this difficult time. You both are a true inspiration to me and everyone at EVI. Stay strong as you get over this hurdle.........
Kurt might like those ice chips better if you put them in a ditch. :) It was so great to see you on Friday, I can't tell you. I am praying hard.
Ditto all the comments on your amazing strength and courage. Our thoughts and prayers continue for you and your families--along with the rest of your support group.
