Kurt is basically a lab rat at this point. He has been poked, prodded, analyzed and examined every which way. The doctors are running test after test, so things here are running so slowly. Kurt will be here at least tonight, probably tomorrow night too. Right now, the doctors don't want to drain the fluids from Kurt's belly, because they are concerned that his blood is too thin and that there may be an infection. So, they just pulled a little fluid off to test it, and we will know the results in the morning. They gave him two infusions of plasma to thicken up his blood also.
Honestly, this is a pretty serious situation. We need to get Kurt's body functioning again. He can't eat much because he is so bloated. Obviously, chemo isn't even an option right now. So, please say an extra prayer for strength and healing. Kurt is very confident and mentally strong right now, which is great. I'm proud to see his faith on such vibrant display. The next 24-48 hours seem very critical to me...maybe I am just overly focused on the immediate crisis. Kurt will get through this .... this is just a valley on the path to healing and victory over cancer. We just need all those prayer warriors out there to help battle back this disease.
Kurt is resting pretty comfortably right now, dozing a little. Feel free to drop a note in the comments or an email ... helps pass the time! 1000 points to the comment that makes both of us laugh out loud ;)

Keep putting the Word in. "My words are spirit, and they are life."
And this is what we need now, is for the life to come back to all Kurt's organs, to every cell so that it is all functioning according to God's perfect design.
And we continue to curse the cancer.
No, I won't get the thousand points 'cause I didn't make you laugh, but you do know that there is a scripture that tells us that God laughs at his enemies.
Karla and Joe love you both!
As for stuff to make you laugh this website might help: http://thereifixedit.com/
I hope that link is enough to garner the 1000 bonus points because that would raise my weekly total to 1200. If not I might know a poem you'd think is funny. It starts out about a guy from Nantucket but I've never heard the rest. Everyone just seems to laugh at that first part...If you know the end let me know. Otherwise I'll google it ;)
Keep fighting it off Kurt. I'm always thinking of you and praying for you to get better.
I don't have that many PG rated comments. But you should really start reading "www.textsfromlastnight.com" outloud to each other. You will definitely win friends.
Here's a top one from today:
(203): i woke up to my roommate spraying cooking spray on my legs. fourth time this has happened. not cool.
Kurt:
Jane and I have been following your case and we are both praying hard for your health to return. Faith is the name of this game and, brother, we're helping all we can.
God bless!

Man I feel for ya Kurt. I know at some point getting poked over and over isn't as traumatic but tiring. Great, another needle. Ugh. You will get through it.
I don't know if I have it in me to make you laugh or not, but whenever I get down thinking of Masaki seems to snap me out of it. Check out http://www.engrish.com/ if you want to laugh out loud. OMG its funny.
One of my favorite Masaki quotes: "I am peeing on Brad's car....and he does not even know."
Maybe you just had to be there.
BMR.
BTW, engrish.com makes me cry. Marianne thinks I'm nuts. Or more nuts. No wonder Masaki was so good at engrish.
And BTW, I read your blog at least 3x per day. Just know its important to us out here in the ether to know how you're doing. We appreciate the reports.
Is that obsessive?
Hang in there....
BMR.
Alright, last comment for tonight.
I now realize that after living with Masaki for 3 or so years we never forced him to say the word election.
Damn.
Talk to you soon.
Well I'm not so sure about that 1000 points, but I have been around some pretty special people lately & thought I should share...
- I have in-laws that use their own language. Such as, if they are coming to town and want to meet you for lunch at Wheat Country, in translation that means Wheat Montana deli. Add in the uncle with alzheimers/dementia & try playing Catch Phrase with that crew.
- Walked into the kitchen at work the other day and our executive chef, head of maintenance and a dishwasher were squirting the floor with a cleaner out of a squirt bottle as a solution to a sighting of an ant army coming in through the floor tiles. ...they assured me it was a strong cleaner.
You are in our thoughts and prayers! Take care and be sure to look for all those awesome people out there.
Take care & love to you both,
Bobbi
No points for me but I just wanted you to know that I'm sending all My prayers your way! Stay strong Kurt! This is just a little bump in the road! Breanna buck
Hi Kurt,
Try this:

Hope you are feeling better this morning. It's December and the spirit seems to come more alive at this time of year for whatever reason.

Hello! Hang in there man - and definitely check out texts from last night that someone recommended - about the funniest stuff you'll find online. Check out the "Best Night" section. My favorite is the one about Snow White at Disney..
