The insanity of the inauguration is beginning to descend on the city. Kurt and I went out Saturday night and saw semi-trucks full of concrete barriers lined up down Constitution Ave. as far as the eye could see. What a total zoo.
Fortunately, Kurt and I will be bailing out... we are headed to Florida this weekend after treatment for a little R&R until after inauguration. We are hopping a flight to Tampa and then driving out to the barrier islands to sit on the beach and do almost nothing. If any of you have been to the Tampa Bay area and have suggestions for things to see or places to go, please post in the comments and let us know.
Great weekend here. Kurt felt great, quite a bit of energy. We got to see some friends and run some errands -- nothing too exciting to report. Just counting the days until we hit the beach!

Oh, You lucky guys. I think you have chosen the good part - just sit on the beach! This isn't a good time to come west, what with snow, rain and flooding. It's been a memorable winter - not complaining, we did need the moisture. You all have fun, sitting there counting your Blessings. I will sit here and try not to be envious; I have had visions of Hawaii dancing in my head, but maybe later. DO keep fighting the war --
God be with you - Love and Prayers, G'ma D
Well, did you rent out your house to some of the millions who are coming in for the gala event? :)
One of Joe's brothers lives in Safety Harbor, about half an hour from Tampa. They fish the piers all the time, but I have no idea what they fish for. (besides fish...)

Great news from the other day. That's awesome! As far as Tampa, go to Clearwater during the day and find a bar called Cooter's. Tacky, I know, but they have a great happy hour buffet with gator, clams, grouper cheeks, raw bar, everything.

North of Clearwater there is a small town called Tarpon Springs. I was near there at Innisbrook Resort many years ago, but as I remember the town had a neat area where there were fishing docks (Tarpon) and a Greek harbor/village area. It may not be worth a trip by itself, but if you are in the area... Also, if you are splurging to celebrate the inaguration, there is a high end restraunt Berns Steak House that has a huge wine cellar.
Have a great time!
These are such good reports Kurt! We are so happy for the progress and see you as completely healed! We continue to pray every day and thank God for your total healing. It's so awesome seeing God's Word being manifest in your life isn't it? Hallelujah! "Beloved I wish above all things that you prosper and be in HEALTH!" You got it right man, don't ever give up, and keep on fighting!!! Love you tons! Uncle Jay, Kimo, Kona, and Makala
Smart move in getting out of town durning the big hubbub. :)
