Lesson learned from this week of FOLFOX: steroids are good! Friday after getting back from the hospital I felt pretty crappy. Saturday morning I started on my oral post-chemo steroids, and they perked me right up. They had been giving me IV steroids to prevent a reaction to the cetuximab, but since I've stopped reacting they stopped the steroids. Boo. This was the first FOLFOX without steroids and I'm not a fan. I'm going to start requesting them from now on. beefcake BEEFCAKE!!
Jen did talk me in to going Christmas shopping this weekend, and it turned out ok. We went out to Tyson's Corner - a huge mall in VA - and I made it for a few hours. I sat down and took lots of breaks but overall did ok. We were heading out and drove past a restaurant that smelled so good that we had to pull in and grab something to eat. I was smelling a great burger and gave it a shot. Bad call. Had to grab the fast-acting anti-nausea drugs when I got home, which I barely did. But boy do those drugs work!
I have a big program/design review meeting for our M1 APU project tomorrow, so I'm trying to get as much rest as I can so I'm in tip-top shape for it tomorrow. I slept in big time this morning, and I'll eventually make it up to work for a while today. I've just gotta take it easy to keep my energy up.
Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers! That meeting with the oncologist brought very good news, and I know that all the prayers are paying huge dividends in my body. Thank you all so much!!

Hi, you two!
So grateful to hear how well you are doing! Loved the Thanksgiving pic. First thing in the morning I head straight to the computer to see any updates on the blog. You two are so good at keeping all of us informed! We really do appreciate it! Hope tomorrow's presentation goes well - remember to take it easy! God bless!
Love Gigi
Your "Beefcake" comments made me remember our trip to Jacobs Field for the ALCS when Jaret Wright was pitching. We sat in the last row for the game and excitedly called Wright beefcake for a good two hours. Good times!
Later Beefcake.
YEA for steroids! Glad they are working like you'd hoped! Good luck on the review meeting today. I'm thinking about you! lotsalove, mom
