Ahhhhh

Less hair makes homefries feel much better! This Erbitux rash I have migrates, and this past cycle it's moved up to my scalp. Each morning in the shower I take out a little more hair, so tonight Jen gave me a good buzz cut. I'd been getting pretty shaggy anyhow. It's much better having less hair on the rash!

This week I'm feeling great otherwise. I put in a good full day at work today, and my energy is back to normal. Last week was a little rough. I took Tuesday off work completely and slept most of the day, then spent Thursday working from home. I'm finding that if I listen to my body and rest instead of being stubborn it works out much better in the long run.

So here's to a good week and less hair!

Your Great Grandmother, Gma Gordie, used to make us take a bath in epsom salt when we had a rash. LOL it'd probly work on your scalp, too! LOL So glad you are listening to your body and resting! I am looking forward to seeing you and Jen again soon, and looking forward to spending time with you when you are feeling good! see you Wednesday! lotsalove, mom

Yes, but we only got the bath AFTER she hosed us down OUTSIDE with the garden hose so we would be CLEAN before we got in the tub. We had to walk on these old fence planks to get into the house so we wouldn't track in grass with our wet feet.
Once in the tub she scrubbed us with some kind of a horrible brush, I think it was probably a STEEL BRUSH.
They got the idea for Silkwood from Grandma Gordie, I think...

Ditto on your Great Grandma Gordie. I remember her scrubbing my head so hard I thought all my hair was gonna fall off too! Hey, and the shaved look??? It's way cool man! I take the clippers with a size "1" attachment to my head once a week. Heck, I don't think I've paid a barber in 20 years. Love ya and see you in only a couple weeks!!!

Merry Christmas greetings for the season!
I'm resisting commenting on the baths form G'ma G and the haircuts. (& Jay had such beautiful thick hair and probably would again) - The reason I will comment no more is because I think Jon is the only person who likes my hair when it is burgundy colored. He was very sweet to say so.
Just a few words to you, Kurt, and Jen! You two, have shown remarkable, bravery, courage and strength and I am so grateful for that as I do pray that for you.
I want to talk about this subject --- JESUS > ANYTHING
Jesus IS Greater!
For anyone reading this who is UNmathematical, as I am, that means Just that -- not less than, but Greater than. (I couldn't make the Bold print to work properly.)
Philippians 2:9-11 says,
v.9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is ABOVE every name;
10. That at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
After Jesus' death on the Cross, HE was given a Name above every name. No other name is higher than Jesus' Name. However, if we don't keep our focus on Jesus' Name and all that it provides, the circumstances in our life will become so big in our own sight that we may begin to doubt Jesus' ability to help us. On the other hand, the more we focus on JESUS, the more those troubling things of life - sickness, poverty, financial problems and etc. - will fade away. As we maintain our focus on the Word, the hardships we are encountering will become smaller & smaller until they eventually disappear. I'm sure you know, Kurt, that in Math, the greater than (">") amd less than ("<") signs are used to show inequalities in mathematical equations. Here are some spiritual equations for you to remember.
JESUS > Cancer
JESUS > Aids
JESUS > Depression
JESUS > whatever you are facing!
Say them aloud so you can hear "Jesus is ">",GREATER than Cancer" -- etc.. hear them with both your inner and outer ears. and you speak them forth. WE GET WHAT WE SAY!!!!
The NAME OF JESUS is above Cancer!
The NAME OF JESUS is above Aids!
The NAME OF JESUS is above Depression!
The NAME OF JESUS is above Whatever you are facing.
I say HALLELUJAH! and PRAISE THE LORD!!
Your G'ma D loves you, Kurt & Jen!God Bless you from the top of your heads to the tips of your toes!
I think that just about covers it! Love and Prayers!
G'ma D
Next time we talk, I EXPECT another GOOD REPORT!

Yikes! Steel scrub brushes, walking on old fence planks to get in the house, baths by garden hoses.....where y'all from?! Oh. wait. Montana?

Thinking of you all...take good care of yourself Kurt....you know you're gonna need a good hair pick as lots of chemo patients re-grow curly hair (mine did!). Hope your lovely wife won't object to the forthcoming 80's look...curly mullet and hair pick in the back pocket. :)

Safe travels today Kim.
