Yay Bureaucracy!!

Ah, government.

We are wandering the halls of NIH this morning, processing, paperworking, consenting....our tax dollars at work! I don't doubt for a minute that some of the world's best physicians are here. But this is definitely a government institution.

Kurt is getting his blood taken, and they actually have you take a number. There is a big sign at the front of the room with a number - currently A74 - just like at the DMV. And when they call your number, a second number lights up to tell you what station to go to. I'm pretty much laughing my @ss off right now. This facility actually could be a DMV ... Maybe on weekends, when everyone wants to get their license. That would be nice....well, except for the cavity search they perform at the front gate. That could be a bit of a barrier.

Anyhow, we will be meeting with the physician sometime between 12-3 (are we curing cancer or getting cable installed??) so we'll post more when we know something.
