Off until Monday

Yesterday finished up well...nothing to report. After not being able to eat all day, we put a hurt on some Texas BBQ last night. That was pretty much the highlight. Kurt is actually in Dallas today on business, so I have been hanging out by the pool and doing some work remotely. We didn't have any appointments today, but we are back in for appointments on Monday and Tuesday. Like Kurt said, we probably won't know much until Tuesday, after the tumor boards.

Kurt had pretty much every test in the book yesterday, so it will be interesting to see what the results are. I think one of us may have mentioned that he got a PET scan, and this is the first PET scan since diagnosis. From what I understand, PET scans are able to identify cell activity, so it should give us a sense of what is actually going on in the tumors -- whereas a CT scan only shows the spots. I'm looking forward to understanding more about what we can learn from the follow-up PET.

MD Anderson is a wonderful facility -- they have amazing patient resources, including some targeted at young adults! It is GINORMOUS, and just a little overwhelming. Everything revolves around the medical center -- the hotel gives discounts, the car rental place reduces fees...crazy. I think I read that the Texas Medical Center (of which MD Anderson is a part) is something like 100 acres. Just silly big.

We'll post on Monday and Tuesday if we learn anything. Otherwise, we're praying for something good from the tumor boards!!

Keep the faith ! ! !

We will all be looking forward to some good information and reports. It is good to know that at least you are comfortable there.

Much love to both of you...

I've read that MD Anderson spends more on cancer research alone than Canada does as a country! Crazy! Good luck today!
